The CD-10 does two jobs. First, its viewfinder helps you find camera lenses. Look through it while you scan a room, and lenses reflect back as bright points. It works on wired and wireless cameras, whether they are on or off.
Second, its RF detector senses devices that are transmitting, such as audio bugs, cell phones, GPS trackers and Wi-Fi cameras. A signal meter shows strength, and you can set it to vibrate silently in your pocket.
Adjust the sensitivity to filter out strong nearby signals like your own router. Then sweep slowly around smoke detectors, clocks, chargers, vents and shelves, where small cameras are most often placed.
It does not detect non-transmitting electronics by RF. For that, the CD-30 adds EMF detection.
Travelers use the CD-10 to check rentals and hotel rooms before they settle in. Use it to check spaces you own, rent or manage, such as your home, car, office or hotel room.
